May means MAYhem!

Since our last update we have welcomed five more groups who have come to Gaines to look deeper into God’s word.

We were delighted to host our first camp of 2022 over May bank holiday weekend. MAYhem is the new name for Midland’s Gospel Partnership Junior Camp. This year Camp XL took the lead with the theme of ‘Treasure Hunters’. We had a brilliant 4-days camp. We looked at five stories from Matthew’s gospel about Jesus being the greatest treasure in the world. As a team we were encouraged by how much the children discovered about Jesus and how many questions the children put into our ask it basket!

We can’t wait to have more groups and to host our summer camps. Breakout (31 July- 6 August), Ignition (7-10 August) and Lift-Off (10-13 August) are all nearly full, so please don’t hesitate to book in. We will start a waiting list when we are full.

The Big Dig

The BIG site news is that thanks to generous donations from The Slavanka Trust and a few individuals, we have raised just enough money to start our next big project. This is to modernise our sewage system.

We still have continued financial needs for this project and have more plans to develop the house and wider site. If you are able to financially support the work at Gaines, you can do so  here.

Other News

Our interns, Emily an Eleni, have found their study at MMTC a continued encouragement throughout the year and have begun to prepare and deliver talks for young people on our camps.

Andy and Lisa have been able to start accessing the support they need for Joshua.

The recent temporary addition of Ben James and Andy Wilson to our team. They have been coming various days in the week to help with maintaining the grounds. Ben also assisted Andrea in the kitchen over MAYhem.
